Tamarac Tree Works (954) 633-8232

Why Sunrise yards need tree work

Sunrise sits just southwest of Tamarac, a large residential city laid out across flat, low-lying terrain that once drained toward the Everglades. That history matters for trees: much of the ground here is sandy fill over a high water table, which lets roots spread wide and shallow rather than anchoring deep. When storm winds cross Sunrise from the west, shallow-rooted shade trees and top-heavy palms are the first to lean, split, or uproot.

Newer subdivisions off Sunrise Boulevard and Oakland Park Boulevard often feature laurel oaks, black olives, and queen palms planted close to driveways and screened patios. As those trees mature, limbs crowd rooflines and pool cages, and roots reach toward irrigation lines. We handle full tree removal service as well as routine trimming to keep a canopy from becoming a hazard.

Because we also cover Tamarac and the surrounding communities, a crew is rarely far away when a Sunrise homeowner needs a limb cleared or a dead tree taken down before hurricane season.

What we do in Sunrise

Common requests from Sunrise homeowners.

Whole-tree removal

Taking down dead, leaning, or storm-damaged trees in tight residential lots, including sectional removal over pools and screen enclosures.

Trimming and canopy thinning

Reducing weight and wind sail on oaks and palms so gusts pass through instead of pushing the whole tree over.

Storm damage cleanup

Clearing broken limbs and split trunks after summer storms, then restoring or removing what is left.

Frequently asked questions

Do you remove trees near pool cages in Sunrise?

Yes. Many Sunrise homes have screened enclosures close to mature trees, so we often take a tree down in sections and lower each piece by rope rather than felling it whole. That protects the cage, pavers, and irrigation below.

Does the high water table in Sunrise affect stump removal?

It can. Saturated sandy soil makes grinding easier in some spots but can flood a fresh grind hole. We assess drainage on site and adjust how deep we grind and how we backfill.

How fast can you reach Sunrise after a storm?

Sunrise is minutes from our Tamarac service base, so it is one of the closer areas we cover. During busy storm periods we prioritize trees that threaten a structure or block access.
